To ensure your payroll runs smoothly, Citadel's Pay Period feature configures your account based on the pay period used by your organization. It's important to note that one pay period and work week must be used for all employees and departments on your account.
When you initially create your account, you set your Pay Period. The current Pay Period cannot be changed. You can update the policy for future pay periods. Citadel will automatically adjust so there are no overlaps or gaps between pay periods.
To complete the steps in this article, you must be an administrator or have the necessary view and/or edit permissions enabled. If you believe you should be able to complete the steps and are not able to, reach out to your account administrator to discuss updating the settings for your Role.
The weekly overtime will always show on the last day of the work week. If you have a semi-monthly or monthly pay period, your weekly overtime will not always coincide with the end of the pay period.
Edit or update your pay period policy:
- Log into your Citadel web portal.
- Click on Policies in the side menu.
- Go to the Pay Period section.
- Click on your Pay Period Policy.
- Click on the Policy Name to update the name.
- Select the Pay Period Type:
- Weekly: A weekly pay period occurs once a week starting on a specific day of the week. The work week aligns with the pay period.
- BiWeekly: Pay periods occur every two weeks on a specific day of the week, for example, every other Friday. The work week aligns with the pay period.
- SemiMonthly: Pay periods occur twice a month on two specific dates within the month. Select the start of your work week as well as the first days for both pay periods per month.
- Monthly: Pay periods occur once a month starting on a specific day each month. Set the start of the work week and the first day of the pay period.
- Select the Effective Date for your new pay period. After selecting a date, you can view the adjusted pay periods on the right side of the screen. These pay periods will be applied moving forward.
- Click Save to update your pay periods.
