If you want to prevent users from punching in from anywhere using the smartphone app or web portal, you can do so by assigning Geo Locations or IP Addresses to the policy. Check out our article about setting up Remote Workers for more information.
To complete the steps in this article, you must be an administrator or have the necessary view and/or edit permissions enabled. If you believe you should be able to complete the steps and are not able to, reach out to your account administrator to discuss updating the settings for your Role.
Assign geo locations:
- Log into the Citadel web portal.
- Click on Policies in the side menu.
- Go to the Punch Management section.
- Select the Punch Management policy assigned to the user(s) you want to restrict.
- Click on an Available Geo Location or click +Add a Geolocation to create a new geolocation.
- Once the geolocation has been added, scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Save.
Assign IP addresses:
- Log into the Citadel web portal.
- Click on Policies in the side menu.
- Go to the Punch Management section.
- Select the Punch Management policy assigned to the user(s) you want to restrict.
- Click on an Available IP Address or click + Add an IP Address to add a new IP Address restriction.
- Once the IP address restriction has been added, scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Save.
